Registration for the 2020 P.L.A.Y. Track Season is now open. More rough information can be found below and will change as scheduling gets finalized, however critically important for this year is the need for Coordinators in order to have a 2020 Track Season, we need 2 - one for grades K-3rd and one for grades 4th-6th. This is a great way to be involved for those who do not want to coach. They are really easy, basic roles that assist with track setup or tear down, answering questions from coaches, and ensuring the meet runs on time.
It is necessary to have some of the parents to help this year for the program to continue. Planning and volunteers from mid-Feb. to May 1 is about 2- 3 hours max. In season - we only need your time during Saturday meets and practices which is about 1 1/2 hours. (You get to be close to your child cheering them on)
Please get involved to help your child continue to enjoy Track!!
Please email Adam Kneeland (VP of Track from the board tab) for more information.
6th-8th graders - Note this is P.L.A.Y. Track Registration - if you want to register for Middle School Track you must go to the PLHS MS Activities website in order to register. As a 6th-8th grader you can actually register for both - but you will need to register in both places PLAY and PLHS if you choose both - you are not able to register in one spot for both or the other.
The P.L.A.Y. Track and Field program is open to students from all districts, not just Prior Lake - Savage.
Kindergartners must be in K this school year (2018-19 school year) . No Pre-K's.
We have access to the Prior Lake High School and Track for our meets and practices. Since the high school teams share their track with us, our schedule depends on their schedules. It is a short season jam-packed with a lot of fun!
Track and Field Goals:
For those of you that don’t already know……
The cost of the program is only $70 per child for a fun-filled season.
Each year the number of participants grow, which requires even a greater need for volunteers in several capacities such as coaches, directors, and board members. (Most parents can qualify to coach and you would be placed with your child’s team).
Please indicate your willingness to volunteer at registration time.
Go to ‘Coaching Requirements’ Tab at top of page to get the information for coaching.

Without the help of parent volunteers, our track program would not be as successful. We are always in need of parent coaches and Board members to effectively run and manage the program.
We have a few open positions for the 2020 season and beyond. These are critical to the success of PLAY Track. Not only are you supporting your athlete, you also get a view from behind the scenes and have a hand in making this program even better. Please consider volunteering for one of the open board positions.
Current positions include:
K-3rd Grade Coordinator: Primary duties include set up of track meets/practices and assisting in fielding questions.
4th-6th Grade Coordinator: Primary duties include tear down of track meets/practices and assisting the VP in fielding questions.
If interested please reach out to Adam Kneeland (VP of Track) for more info.
Go to this page for your information.
All meets and practices will be held at Dan Patch Stadium at Prior Lake High School unless noted below.
Practice Schedule - We are at the mercy of High School Events taking place so dates and times are variable. Normally there is 1 practice a week with K-3rd grade form 6pm-7pm and 4th-8th grade from 7pm-8pm.
Without additional help we may have to restrict our Track offering.
We always need coaches but more importantly for 2020 is the need for Age Coordinators. Without these roles, we simply cannot have a Track Season. Please reach out if you are willing to help fill the role of Age Coordinator!
To register for the 2020 season, please click the link at the top of this page! Unfortunately, because of the number of participants we are unable to fulfill individual requests such as having a friend on the same team... unless you become a Coach or Age Coordinator!
2020 Coaching Registration is also open, and we need volunteer coaches for all grades! A vast majority of our coaches had never coached before, and all you need for training is Google! We do have the assistance of the High School team for some early practices as well! Coaching is a great way to see your child in all events, and have a positive impact on a great group of kids.
A coaches meeting will be planned for the end of April when the coaches will pick up picture packets, get information about coaching and how the program works, and will be coached themselves by the Prior Lake High School Track coaches.
All practices and meets will be held in Dan Patch Stadium at Prior Lake High School.
Practices will be one evening per week beginning the end of April or the beginning of May with the K-3rd grade practices generally going from 6-7 p.m. and the 4th-8th practices from 7-8 p.m. although those times depend on when the high school athletes need the field.
Meets will be Saturday mornings with the K-3rd grade meet beginning at 8:30 a.m. and going to around 11:00 a.m. and the 4th-8th grade meet from 10 a.m. to about 1 p.m.
Thanks! And we look forward to another great season!
