Prior Lake Softball is dedicated to providing the chance for school aged girls in the Prior Lake school district to play Softball. We have a program and age level for anyone grades Pre-K to 12th. Prior Lake Softball starts with the In-House program at Pre-K and continues all the way through 12th grade for girls looking for a fun less competitive experience. For those girls looking for more competition we offer a Travel Fastpitch program beginning at 8U. Please see each programs specific page to learn more about the program. The In-House page can be found here and the Fastpitch Travel page can be found here.
Prior Lake Softball provides a cultural environment that promotes the fundamentals of softball both physical and mental that would teach life lessons beyond the playing field.
Parent Informational Meeting: Early January
If you are new to Prior Lake Softball, or are not certain which of the two softball programs fit best for your family, travel softball or in-house softball, it is very important for at least one parent to attend this meeting. You will learn all there is to know about both programs. With both programs there are player expectations. At this meeting you will learn the commitment it takes to be part of each. Directors from both In-House and Travel will be present and speaking.
If you have ANY questions that cannot wait until the meeting to be answered please contact our VP of Softball.
The P.L.A.Y. By Laws state that a participant must reside in and or go to school within the boundaries of the Prior Lake/Savage school district, 719. If you do not meet this requirement you must contact the VP of your sport OR the Administration Director for clarification. Occasionally P.L.A.Y. has allowed those outside the district that are looking to participate in a non traveling or tryout program (In-House) if their area of residence or school does not provide that opportunity. Without prior clearance by the P.L.A.Y. Executive Board P.L.A.Y. has the right of dismissal of the registration and removal of the participant, even if previously assigned to a team, if it is not in the best intent of the P.L.A.Y. community.
Each governing body of Travel and some In-House sports will have restrictions on whether a player can participate if outside the proper community youth organization borders. This is true at State and National Tournament levels. If an outside player is allowed into the program, they will not be eligible to be placed on a top "A" level team as to prevent association hopping, the highest level will be a "B" team placement.
