Welcome to Prior Lake Softball

Prior Lake Softball is dedicated to providing the chance for school aged girls in Prior Lake to play Softball. We have a program and age level for anyone grades Pre-K to 12th. Prior Lake Softball starts with the In-House program at Pre-K and continues all the way through 12th grade for girls looking for a fun less competitive experience. For those girls looking for more competition we offer a Travel Fastpitch program beginning at 8U. Please see each programs specific page to learn more about the program. The In-House page can be found here and the Fastpitch Travel page can be found here.

On February 12th we held an informational meeting for parents who are considering their softball options. The following presentation will answer your questions about both our programs, In-House and Travel Fastpitch.

Dear Parents & Players

Softball is continuously looking for ways to add to the experience and life lessons this wonderful game provides.  We have had success over the years but are always looking for ways to improve.  Please note that your feedback helps shape the direction of the program and volunteers move it forward.

Continuing into this season you will see new committee members focused on the goal to better align our program with other P.L.A.Y. sports, the high school program, our PCA commitment, and further improving our Traveling and In-House programs.  We also look forward to increased involvement of coaches and community through a committee structure.

Mission Statement

The mission of Prior Lake Softball is to create a healthy, competitive, drug-free environment where young girls and women can build their skills as athletes and people. We strive to afford opportunities to develop and enhance softball skills to compete at all levels. Our athletes are encouraged to develop confidence, high self-esteem, and respect for the game and officials to better support their future roles as quality citizens.

Restrictions on Player Eligibility

The P.L.A.Y. By Laws state that a participant must reside in and or go to school within the boundaries of the Prior Lake/Savage school district, 719. If you do not meet this requirement you must contact the VP of your sport OR the Administration Director for clarification. Occasionally P.L.A.Y. has allowed those outside the district that are looking to participate in a non travelling or tryout program (In-House) if their area of residence or school does not provide that opportunity. Without prior clearance by the P.L.A.Y. Executive Board P.L.A.Y. has the right of dismissal of the registration and removal of the participant, even if previously assigned to a team, if it is not in the best intent of the P.L.A.Y. community.

Each governing body of Travel and some IN-House sports will have restrictions on whether a player can participate if outside the proper community youth organization borders. This is true at State and National Tournament levels.
