Our Middle School and Elementary Competitive program tryouts have ended and we have rostered for our 2024/2025 season. Watch for information in the spring for next season's tryouts!

P.L.A.Y. Cheer is excited to announce the addition of.............

Laker Prep Pre-Competition Cheer Squad
No Tryout Needed
See Attachment PDF Below for Details

Is your athlete interested in the competitive side of our program, but worry it's a bit too much or too long of a season for their age?

This squad is the perfect bridge for those who are interested, but think their athlete would like a less intense introduction to competitive cheer.

Interested in joining? We have limited spots available, email VPCheer@playinfo.org to secure your athletes spot today!

Welcome to P.L.A.Y. Cheer

As a rapidly growing sport, we currently offer two program options: Sideline Cheer and Competitive Cheer each with different commitment levels.  To learn more about each of these programs, see below or click on tabs above.

Sideline Cheer | No Tryout | Pre-K - 8th Grade
Our Sideline Cheer program is a fun, inclusive, non-competitive (in-house) cheer program.  Participants cheer on grade level (or combined grade level) squads from pre-K through 8th grade.  Athletes will develop and improve fundamental cheer skills, cheer for our P.L.A.Y. youth football teams,  share their Laker Pride and make new friends!  Registration takes place each May for the fall season.
Commitment level: Low
Season: August through mid October

Competitive Cheer | Tryout to Roster | 2nd Grade - 8th Grade
Our competitive cheer program is a tryout-based group of rostered teams that compete a 2 minute 30 second routine (2:30) at local competitions.   Our 2:30 teams practice twice a week (+additional practice dates, including some Saturdays) and compete at 4-5 local competitions in their respective divisions as well as at the Minnesota State Cheer Competition in late January.
Commitment level: High
Season: June - February 1
