Welcome to P.L.A.Y. Fall Sideline Cheer! This is a fun, inclusive, non-competitive cheer program. Participants are encouraged to make new friends, improve their skills, cheer on our P.L.A.Y. football teams and show Laker Pride!
Uniforms: Uniforms have been ordered and will arrive and be distributed in late August at practice.
Season: Tuesday, August 13 will be the Get to Know Your Squad Night (first night of practice). The regular season will end prior to MEA break mid-October, with an end of season performance and party in late October.
Practice nights: All teams will practice on TUESDAY nights, with a second day, Mondays or Thursdays, for the first few weeks. Some coaches will drop this second practice when school starts. Pre-K will be Tuesdays only.
Practice time: 6:00-7:15pm (Pre-K will practice 6:00-7:00pm)
Practice location: All practices are at Lakefront Park unless there is inclement weather.
Coaches: Our cheer squads are entirely led by amazing, dedicated volunteer coaches, most of whom are parents of our cheerleaders. An orientation and training will be provided. We can also partner you with another coach and/or team at the beginning to help you and your squad succeed. We provide videos of many of the cheers on our website to help you learn and teach the cheers.
Squad formation: Squads are formed with cheerleaders of similar age.
Games: Each squad will cheer for 7-8 P.L.A.Y. football games throughout the season. Most games are Saturday mornings, but you may have one or two weeknight games. Game schedules don't come out until late August, when we receive football schedules and can assign squads to games.
PLAY Night will be August 29th! Our PLAY Sideline cheerleaders will cheer with the Varsity cheerleaders for part of the first quarter of the Varsity football game. This is a fun night so mark your calendar now!

The winter Basketball cheer program was discontinued a few years ago. Unfortunately, most of our gyms do not have adequate space for spectators and cheerleaders.
