Season fee includes:
The Blue Team will wear the PLAY Sideline uniform. If you have the current Sideline uniform, you will not need to buy one (other than possibly a new bow). If you have not participated in Sideline, you will need to purchase this uniform (either used or new). Here are the approximate costs for new uniforms:
Shell (top) and skirt package $134
Long sleeve body liner $24
We have started a uniform sale page that you may want to check for used uniform pieces if you are placed on this team.
You will also need to buy cheer shoes to be worn on the mats indoors only (about $43 if you buy through PLAY).
Additional optional costs (last year's prices; subject to slight changes):
Coaches: Angie Jezierski, Alex Borchardt, Tara Caspers
Coordinator: Stephanie Hayden
Practices will start in August and will be Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00pm at Hidden Oaks Middle School. When school starts, the Blue Team will move to Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Aspen Academy. Season ends early February.
Exhibition Performances (not judged; no cost when Gold Team competing): The Blue Team will perform in up to 4 competitions as an exhibition (non-competing) team.
Competitions: Depending on the progress and readiness of the Blue Team, we will have them compete in one competition toward the end of the season (separate category than Gold Team). More information will be communicated as the season progresses.
Tumbling: The Blue Team will receive some tumbling instruction during their practices with an experienced instructor. Athletes are also encouraged to enroll in outside tumbling classes. Check out Classic Gymnastics (Savage), Bodies in Motion (Prior Lake) or Dynamics (Savage). Some of the gyms offer cheer-specific tumbling classes.
The Elementary Pre-Competition Squad was a pilot program in 2018-2019. This new squad was formed for cheerleaders who want to continue beyond the sideline season, improving their skills in preparation for competitive team tryouts in the spring.
This squad did exhibition performances at competitions, and is available to cheer at community events as needed.
