New Age Brackets Announced for Summer 2017

At the annual meeting in October, MSSLax voted to adopt the US Lacrosse recommended age bracket guidelines for 2-year groupings.   Following a study conducted in 2015, US Lacrosse determined age brackets for 2-year groupings should have the even year as the max, based on several factors.  US Lacrosse piloted these changes in early 2016 and will be making them mandatory for all youth lacrosse associations by the end of 2017.

To align lacrosse associations, effective immediately, P.L.A.Y and MSSLax will be implementing the recommended age brackets.  For the Summer lacrosse seasons the age brackets are as follows, based on birth date:

8U: Born 9/1/2008 or later

10U: Born 9/1/2006 through 8/31/2008

12U: Born 9/1/2004 through 8/31/2006

14U: Born 9/1/2002 through 8/31/2004
