Traveling Softball Coaches Information Page

Team Pages

Each team has a page on the PLAY website.  Go here and look on the left margin to find your age group:  TEAM PAGES

Fall ball pages are now set up.

Team name and head coaches have been entered.  You can go in and add phone numbers and e-mails for your coaches once you are logged in.  You can also edit the assistant coaches to add their names and information.

Use the login you either used last year, or if you are new, use the login you used to register your daughter for softball.  If this does not work, e-mail Barb Everson at: barbareverson@q.com

If you want a team parent to have editing permission on your page, send Barb an e-mail with the parent name and login id for the NGIN system.

To get instructions on how to create an event go here:  EVENT CREATION  or, go to your team page, login, then click on the switch in the upper right corner to "Edit".  Then you will be able to scroll down and click on "add event".

Tournament Sign Up

This is for SUMMER LEAGUES only.  Fall ball does not have any tournaments besides the League Qualifier and State Championships.  Coaches do not need to sign up for either of those.  They will be assigned by MMFL.

It is up to each head coach to pick which two tournaments his or her team will be participating in for the season.  PLAY will pay for three tournaments (including the Prior Lake Tournament).  You are welcome to participate in more, the team will just have to pay an additional fee for any tournaments above three.  This does not include your League Qualifier Tournament or State tournament (those are also covered by player registration fees).  Those are in addition to the three.  To see dates for those tournaments, go here:  Suburban League

Prior Lake teams
Prior Lake teams still need to download the Registration Form, fill out, and send in if they will be participating in the Prior Lake Tournament.  As a Prior Lake team, You do not need to pay or get a check for this tournament.  Click Here to go to the page to download form:  REGISTRATION FORM

To see available tournaments for the summer, go here:  TOURNAMENTS   This will take you to the Fastsports site where tournaments are listed.  The dates and type of tournament are all listed on this page.

To sign up for a tournament:
1.  Go to site and pick tournament. TOURNAMENTS
2.  Download the registration form from this site.
3.  Fill out form and either mail in or e-mail to tournament director listed on the Fastsports tournament page.  You will NOT be sending in payment.  Let the tournament director know that a check will come directly from PLAY.
4.  To get payment sent in, download this requisition form from PLAY: PDF Below.
5.  Send a copy of tournament registration form and PLAY requisition form by attaching to an e-mail and send to Tim Pinkowski and George Kraemer at this link:  E-MAIL

Checks should be mailed by PLAY soon after requisition has been sent in.  It is the Coach's responsibility to check with each tournament director to make sure your team is signed up and paid for.  DO NOT wait until the week of the tournament or day of tournament to double check your registration.

Field Assignments for Games

Suburban league assigns which community hosts each game.  When we have a home game, your game will be assigned on the google field calendar.  The same calendar you sign up for practices.

Once you know your home field for a particular game, it is a good idea to go to the Suburban League website, login and then edit the game you are participating in for that night.  There you can type in the field location.

Typically the coaches from each community coordinate with each other regarding field locations.  Contact the oppposing coach prior to each game to find out exactly which field.  Hopefully most will post on the Suburban Website.

Coach contact information is normally posted on the Suburban League web site (it was last year).  Also, once coaches get their league NGIN access, they should be able to email each other directly from the team's web page (much like you can email PLAY board members from the link on the PLAY NGIN site).

When you click on the link to the Coach Contact Page on Suburban League, it will ask you to login if you are not already logged in.  You will not be able to view or edit your particular list unless you are logged in.

Getting login permission on Suburban League Site

To get permission to edit games, enter scores and get to your team page on Suburban League you need to gain access from Suburban League.  Follow these steps:

1.  Please remember to set up an NGIN login, if you don't have one.

2.  Once you have one, be sure to send a message to Bill at Suburban League to be assigned edit privledges for your team.  Be sure to include the Age Group, Division and Team Name in the message, as well as your NGIN user ID.   NOT your password.  E-mail bill here:  suburbanleague@gmail.com

NAFA Number

Use this link http://nafa.mmfl.net/ to understand what is required for rosters this year. They have an easy to use on-line form for submitting to the league. You must have a  signed paper copy of your roster for your tournaments,...  as tournament are separate from league play.  Many times they do not ask for them, but some do. This is the coaches responsibility.

When filling out your Minnesota Metro Fastpitch League on-line Team Roster form,  it asks for a NAFA Registration number

To find your teams number,

Look on the NAFA web page,  http://nafa.mmfl.net/
Click on the NAFA Team tab in the top right
Choose your age group

Find your team in the list

To submit a roster follow this link:  ROSTERS

NAFA rosters typically do not have to be submitted to NAFA but the coach should bring their roster to each tournament (especially state and nationals).  Coaches should be reminded that they can include a few additional players on their roster (to help cover them in the event of player shortages for a tournament).  However, a player cannot be listed on more than two rosters so the coach needs to check with the player/player's parents before including a non-team member on their NAFA team roster.
