Note: for 2011 uniforms include both pants and shorts. Please order shorts if you are a returning player and currently only have pants.
Mandatory Equipment
You must havea jersey, pant, shorts, socks and visor for the 2011 spring season. You can also purchase additional socks etc. Please note that this will be the only time to purchase uniforms and equipment so make sure you order accordingly. The uniforms are designed to last many seasons. The jerseys will feature a number and last name on the back. Numbers will be confirmed for past participants and assigned for new participants at tryouts. Please make sure you do this at tryouts.
Batting Helmets (attached face guard required)
Players can purchase a helmet through the website while ordering their uniform or you can purchase one on your own. PLEASE NOTE that the ASA requires all batting helmets to have an attached face guard. There are very specific standards for the helmet and face guard that must be met to be compliant. Look for the NOCSAE certification stamp. The helmets for sale through PLAY will be a one-size-fits-most navy helmet with a gold face guard and air vents.
Cleats
Players may purchase cleats from any store. They may not be metal cleats. Cleats are required for outdoor practice and competition.
Optional Equipment
Gold Short and Long Sleeve Moisture Wicking Shirts
These are optional but recommended items for wearing under the uniform on colder days.
Compression Shorts
Compression shorts will be available as in previous years. These shorts have built-in padding to reduce injury during sliding. Although we are going to pants this year some players may want to wear compression shorts for added protection.
Knee Pad
We will continue to offer knee pads. Players are not required to wear one now that we are requiring pants but may choose to do so for added protection.
Defensive Face Mask
Some participants, such as pitchers, may want to purchase a face mask to be worn on defense, but this item is not required.
Mouth Guard
These are not required but strongly encouraged for all players. These can be purchased at any sporting goods store.
Fall Softball
A new player to the traveling Fall-Ball teams will not be required to purchase a uniform for Fall. Loaner jerseys are available or the team will all wear T-Shirts provided by the program. An $80 deposit will be required for all loaner jerseys, the deposit will be returned when the uniform is returned.
