Volleyball Organization:
We offer an In-House program for 1st/2nd & 3rd thru 6th grade that places an emphasis on instruction (and fun!). The lead instructor is Theresa Barnett & Tim Reckmeyer, who both provide excellent instruction for our In-House program. We also have an In-House program for 7th and 8th grade that focuses more on playing games.
Our Traveling program is available for 5th thru 8th grade, and combines instruction in practices with competition in leagues against other teams from the Metro area.
For more information on these programs, click on the “In-House” or “Traveling” buttons on the left side of the screen.
Volleyball is a fun sport that is enjoyed by not only youth, but adults well past their high school days. Spending time now learning how to play the game, and having fun playing the game, is a worthwhile investment. Both the In-House and Traveling programs are designed to teach kids the skills necessary to play volleyball the right way. And we aim to make it fun, because that is how we get the kids wanting to come back and play again next year!
Each year the number of participants grows, which requires even a greater need for voluntary coordinators, board members, coaches and assistant coaches. You do not need extensive experience to be a coach, just understand the basics of the game and know how to have fun with the kids. That's what it is all about, learning and having fun. (Any parent can qualify for a coach.) Please indicate your willingness to volunteer at registration time. We have expanded our board and have a need for a few key positions that are highlighted above. These volunteer positions have registration scholarships available to the parents taking on these positions.
Coaches, please submit your application via the P.L.A.Y. Online registration system (this Application and background check can be found under the "Forms' tab at the top of the website. when you register your child for volleyball. You can register Coach on the Registration Software as well. To complete a Background check – simply go to ‘Forms’ on the website and go to Background checks – this can now be done on-line as well.
To become involved in the Volleyball Program ask a Board member what you want, can or need to do to help. Your help as volunteers is imperative to make the program successful!
