Prior Lake Weather Cancellation Hotline

952-447-9825

What does this recording mean? When you listen to the recorded message you will hear specific field closings OR ALL fields are closed.

The Weather cancellation Number is connected to the City of Prior Lake Parks and School Fields. If the message states ALL fields are closed, it is referring to ALL Prior Lake City and School District 719 maintained fields. If ALL FIELDS are closed ALL outdoor P.L.A.Y. Events for that day/evening are cancelled. Contact your Coach or Team Coordinator for further information. Since P.L.A.Y. relies on these fields for participation it is necessary to abide by these cancellations.

SPRING/SUMMER/FALL - Fields: In case of pending bad weather and fields have not been closed… P.L.A.Y. events may go on if fields are not closed, however if there is unsafe conditions such as visible Lightning (even on the horizon), Tornado Warning or Thunderstorm Warning, all outside events should be discontinued and participants should seek shelter IMMEDIATELY. The Official/Umpire OR a Coaches mutual agreement, can cancel the event. Please use sound personal judgment in determining if attempting to attend an event in inclement weather is worth it. You have a choice…Safety First!

WINTER - Gyms: If storms have cancelled school for the day, or if there was early release, the gyms will also be closed for scheduled evening events. If there has been a specific school event that has been cancelled due to weather, gyms may remain open and practices possible. Contact your Coach or Team Coordinator for further information. However, as always use sound personal judgment in determining if attempting to attend an event in inclement weather is worth it. You have a choice…Safety First!
